Role of the Skin

The survival of human beings in dry conditions is possible only because of the tolerant fence present in the outmost portion of the epidermal layer. Sensation is the primary duty of the skin, thus we can feel the temperature (hot or cold), pressure, touch and vibration through our skin. The above said actions are performed by a countless number of nerve endings inside the skin.
